About Us

Bank History
Community Bank was established in 1994 when a group of local people purchased El Pueblo State Bank in Espanola, which had been chartered in New Mexico in 1973. The first official ''Community Bank'' offices opened in 1995. In 1999, offices were added in Albuquerque, Los Alamos, and at the Wal-Mart in Espanola.

The Bank's shareholders, many of whom live and work in the markets we serve, are committed to our philosophy of providing personalized, ''hometown'' banking services that meet the particular needs of people in New Mexico.

Our philosophy is exemplified in our logo. The swirling circle symbolizes the sun, crucial for life on this planet. Found on petroglyphs that date to prehistoric times in New Mexico, this symbol was used to record seasons, identify landmarks and trails, record sights and events, and honor the sun's power.
We proudly borrow this symbol as a representation of Community Bank because we believe that honoring history, tradition and culture is what makes us part of our community. Our pledge to you is continuity, longevity and excellent service.
